PCC Jan 2025 Northeast of Cambodia
On January 31, 2025 the first group of riders gathered at the Sokimex gas station at the north end of Prek Pneau where they have a nice restaurant and fuel pumps on the Tonle Sap River. Dennis had left Kampot at around 5 am and arrived before the 8 am meeting time. Dave, Wendy, Yong, Scott and Luke joined from their Phnom Penh locations. It was mostly hard top road all the way to Stung Treng. We picked up Philip at the PTT gas station just north of Kratie and then Peter joined us later at The Hope Center where we spent the night in Stung Treng. So we were 8 riders by Friday evening and we went out to eat at a restaurant and then bunked for the night.

PCC March 2022 to Northeatern Cambodia
March 26
Left PP at 7:45 and arrived in village about 6. We a left late because Luke had a flat tire. Went across the ferry at NagaWorld and turned right. Lots of water there and everything seemed to be well irrigated.! New rice was coming up which usually only happens in wet season. Also saw a huge Ferris wheel off to the right as we traveled south. Not sure where that is? Met Dennis at the meeting point and had a coffee. Went to Memot and ate there then on to Snoul. Out of Snoul Yong had a flat tire. Mostly nice forest roads but on the way Sergey had a flat rear tire. The group waited for Sergey, Luke and myself at a drink stop/house and had a good visit with that family. They said that people can stay there in the future if they want. Sergey was red and hot and tired from changing the tire so we took a break. We made it to Svay Chhuuk right at sunset.

PCC April 2019 Kampot
Another Prayer Circle Cambodia ride is in the books! I’ll admit that I was a little anxious leading up to the ride, specifically because there were only three people riding this time. The night before, I was out walking Bullet and God reminded me of Ecclesiastes 4:12 “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” It quickly became my mantra for the prayer ride, we are a strong strand!

PCC Jan 2016 Western Part of Cambodia
Chi Phat are has a church built there but nothing really going on at the present time. Bo and I asked about that when we came through in April 2015 and were told that a Korean group had built the Ch. The theory is that if you build it, the people will come. That has not proven to be true in practice though. There is some thought that Chinese business folks have discovered Titanium in the Chi Phat region and are planning to mine it out of there. This is supposed to be a protected area for eco-tourism, but this may be out the window if there is money to be made in titanium mining.

History
Brief History of the known status of the church in Preah Vihear Province
Boo Rut was one of the first believers that folks from World Team had contact when they went to Preah Vihear. He had been part of the Khmer Serey fighting faction which was both against the Khmer Rouge and the Vietnamese forces which invaded and freed Cambodia from the KR regime. He had acquired a French Bible and started reading it in the (60’s or 70’s?) and he had an interest in the message even though he did not fully understand the text. When the KR was defeated, Sihanouk was seeking to have political influence and the Khmer Serey aligned themselves with Sihanouk and later on the Funcinpec Party. Because of those affiliations, Boo Rut was invited to go to China to participate in some military training there. During those meetings in China, Rut met with a Reagan staffer that mentioned all people on the earth were equal and that we are all part of one family originating from Adam and Eve. Those statements really piqued his interest in God and he really wanted to know more about those things.
